Understanding Small Business Certifications

We invite you to participate in a workshop focused on sharing what certifications are available to small businesses and how they may benefit your business. This includes various federal, state and local certifications that can help you take your business to the next level.

In conjunction with the US Small Business Administration, QCM is providing training to 7(j) eligible firms.

  • This session will help attendees understand the benefits of the various certifications, what are the minimum requirements and how to evaluate if it's a worthwhile investment for your business. Attendees that meet the certification criteria may be eligible for one-on-one assistance to provide support in completing certification applications.

Certifications that will be reviewed include but are not limited to:

Federal Certifications

  • 8(a)
  • Economically Disadvantaged/Woman-Owned Small Business (ED/WOSB)
  • HUB Zone
  • Veteran Owned Small Business
  • Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business

State/Local Certifications

  • Mississippi Department of Transportation
  • Mississippi Development Authority

Other Certifications

  • South Region (Arkansas-Mississippi) Minority Supplier Development Council
  • Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
